The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts offers residencies on a competitive basis to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, playwrights, performance artists, film and video artists, painters, sculptors, photographers, installation artists, composers, and cross-disciplinary artists. Residents get private bedrooms and studios, all meals. Located on a former dairy farm at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fees charged; artists asked to contribute according to their ability. For residencies taking place between October and January, the deadline is May 15.
